Would a futon mattress work on a sleeper sofa?

Can you answer Rachel’s question about Futons?:
We recently bought a sleeper sofa, and the mattress is very uncomfortable. Would a futon mattress work, or is there another way to make it comfortable?

Futons Feedback: If your just going to put it straight over the top of the sofa bed mattress then it should work just fine!

Most of the products at Overstock have tons of reviews- you could scroll through the topper reviews to see if anyone else used it on a sofa bed. (I picked the 4″ Serta at random; they have lots). I have slept on a sofabed with a mattress topper, it was very comfortable, but the host had to drag the topper out of the closet and make the bed every time someone used it (ie the sofabed won’t close with a topper). That’s the plus to buying a new sofabed mattress- but unfortunately there are no reviews on Overstock on the sofabed mattresses- you’d be taking a chance. Shipping to you is cheap, but if you didn’t like it, you’d have to ship it back. good luck-
